Overview
Update 2/18/98: Intel
announces
the availability of the IPEAK family of platform
performance tools.
Ordering
and pricing information
The IPEAK Graphics Toolkit provides an integrated
GUI environment for analyzing and improving graphics hardware and software performance on
the Intel Architecture platform.
It is comprised of two tools: IPEAK Graphics Performance Tool (GPT) and Intel Baseline AGP System Evaluation
Suite (IBASES)
IPEAK Graphics Performance Tool
The IPEAK Graphics Performance Tool (GPT)
integrates three main features:
- 3D hardware accelerator measurement
- Application workload analysis, statistics, and playback
- Software and hardware performance improvement guidelines

3D hardware accelerator performance measurement allows the
user to understand the maximum performance available from a specific 3D hardware
accelerator. Rasterization attributes from shading to filtering to texturing can be
selected to match the users desired attribute combinations. All measurements are
performed using industry standard 3D APIsMicrosofts Direct3D*, and OpenGL*.
Application workload analysis and statistics allow the user
to understand exactly how the application is interacting with the API and 3D hardware
accelerator. What functions that are called in the APIDirect3D or OpenGL as
well as the primitive data submitted for rendering, and the rasterization attributes are
analyzed in order to understand the exact workload created by the application. The general
performance of the application, measured in frame rate, is also investigated at several
points in order to determine further performance problems due to underperforming hardware,
lack of application content, or the application causing problems with the hardware
accelerator.

- Measure and analyze the performance of graphics hardware and software
- 3D Application workload analysis, statistics, and playback
